The Power of Softr Forms - Use Hidden Fields & Create New Records

When building a front-end app in Softr, you'll likely want to allow your users to create new records in Airtable. For this we have Softr forms, allowing you to add a straightforward Form Block to your page, allowing users to submit responses. While the block itself is straightforward, the use cases can quickly become complicated!

In this video, I demonstrate one of the most common form actions from Softr: creating a new record in your Airtable base. In addition, I showcase how to use hidden fields to capture information about your user/record/etc. In this example, my form has four different elements, but the user is only required to enter two of them (the other two are hidden)!
