Track Inventory and Reordering with Airtable

airtable Mar 16, 2020

Tracking inventory is a vital part of so many businesses. Inventory is a tricky thing to manage - having too much is an inefficient use of capital, and having too little produces delays and lost opportunities. So how do you get that sweet spot and know how much inventory to keep on hand? How do you know when it's time to reorder?

Sure there are tons of expensive inventory solutions out there... but if you're looking for a simple way to organize that information, Airtable has you covered.

In this video I walk through the steps of organizing Inventory. We build four tables, Suppliers, Inventory, Stocking, and Usage. Stocking and Usage are used to record when inventory is added or subtracted from the supply. Then we can run a slew of calculations on the Inventory level in order to provide data suggesting when a reorder is in need.

For access to this template check out the read-only version here that you can copy and use for your own purposes. Happy inventory tracking!
