User Permissions in SmartSuite
Dec 28, 2022SmartSuite has some of the best permissions for users in the no-code space, allowing for granular control over how team members interact with solutions. In this video, we'll be doing a deep dive on these permissions to help you understand how to share access with your SmartSuite solutions across your teams.
To start, let's discuss the solution level permissions. These can be accessed by clicking on the solution and selecting the permissions option. From here, you have a few different options for granting access. The first is to give all members full access to the solution. This is the easiest way to do it, as any new members added to the workspace will automatically have access to the solution. Another option is to only give specific teams full access to the solution. To do this, you'll need to assign users to teams when you add them to the Smartsuite workspace. This can be done in your user profile, which can be accessed by clicking on your avatar in the top right corner of the screen.
In addition to solution level permissions, you can also set permissions at the application level. This allows you to have more control over which team members have access to specific applications within a solution. To do this, you'll need to go into the application and select the permissions option. From here, you can grant access to specific teams or individual users. You can also set permissions for specific actions within the application, such as the ability to create, read, update, or delete records.
Another way to manage permissions in SmartSuite is through the use of roles. Roles allow you to grant specific permissions to groups of users. For example, you could create a role for solution admins that gives them the ability to manage permissions and add new applications to the solution. To create a role, you'll need to go to the roles tab in the permissions menu and click on the "Create a Role" button. From here, you can choose the permissions you want to grant to the role and assign users to the role.
In conclusion, SmartSuite has excellent permissions for users, allowing for granular control over how team members interact with solutions. By setting permissions at the solution and application level, and using roles to grant specific permissions to groups of users, you can easily share access with your SmartSuite solutions across your teams.
